Buyer data partnership terms: payout timing and exclusivity

Updated

The terms that decide a data deal are usually on the buyer's own page, if they are anywhere.

Set out my deal terms Tell us what data the company holds and what kind of deal it would accept. We read your answers against the published terms and reply with the buyers whose terms fit.

When a data seller is paid

  • Grepped: when a buyer purchases, the money comes to you, in as little as 7 days.
  • Mercor: wire transfer on delivery of the anonymised dataset, typically within 2-4 weeks of the signed agreement.
  • Nyne: payment once the dataset is delivered and accepted, as the partnership agreement sets out.
  • Maryah: paid for every approved sale under the agreement.

Exclusive or not

licensemydata.com says that, depending on the buyer, a deal is a non-exclusive licence you can place again and again or a one-time exclusive buyout. FileYield says a licence should define which uses and buyers it excludes, for how long and in which markets.
